Limitless is the synonym of Gloria Studio. This 90m2 house studio is located in Barcelona placed in a long and narrow site accessed from the main market square and a pedestrian street.
The building has separated from the latticed exterior façade to achieve more contact with the environment creating external patios. The dwelling has been divided into blocks separating the house from the studio and at the same time into two floors separating public and private area.
An open space towards the interior and exterior patios creates an endless illusion through all the house allowing the airflow in the hot climate. Comfort is achieved playing with external galleries placed strategically to gain energy and create a greenhouse effect in winter; and avoiding radiation and allow shaded ventilation in summer and gaining energy and thermal.
The key shape of the blocks are playing with the sun position, increasing the south façade allowing the gaining of energy in winter and reducing the roof surface in summer to avoid it. Both blocks are connected with a semi open space that works as a porch with a textile piece that can be added in warm days to increase the shaded part.
This contrast between shade and light in this intermediate spaces is the key of this ambiguous space where the limit between interior and exterior is unknown.
